Installation & Testing

Below you will find detailed installation and testing instructions for all our THERMOFLEX™ heat detector units. The Testing Instruction sheet includes instructions for different units. Please read it carefully before proceeding. Installation requirements and procedures are listed in Installation sheets for different series of units. If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call.

Testing

Please read carefully the attached testing instructions prior to testing your heat detector. Every technician must identify the type of detector as to whether or not it can be tested with a heat source.

Single Circuit Normally Open Contacts

These units are single circuit with normally open contact configuration. They are available with an Aluminum or White finish.

Single Circuit Open, Sealed

Detector with Normally Open contacts, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate, providing enhanced protection against corrosive and moisture-laden environments.

Single Circuit Closed, Sealed

Detector with Normally Closed contacts, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate, providing enhanced protection against corrosive and moisture-laden environments.

Explosion Proof, Normally Open Contacts

The EWT Series of THERMOFLEX heat detectors for fire alarm systems are Explosion proof, Weather proof, Water-tight and Dust-tight.

Double Circuit Normally Open Contacts

The second set of N/O contacts are used to activate a local ancillary function that includes elevator recall, release of magnetically-held doors, local signal operation, local annunciation, etc.

Double Circuit Normally Closed Contacts

The second set of N/C contacts is used to activate a local ancillary function that includes elevator recall, release of magnetically-held doors, local signal operation, local annunciation, etc.

Double Circuit N/O & N/C Contacts

The second set of N/C contacts is often used to activate a local ancillary function that includes elevator recall, release of magnetically-held doors, local signal operation, local annunciation, etc.

Double Circuit N/O Contacts Sealed

Double circuit, Normally Open (N/O) contacts detector, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate.

Double Circuit N/C Contacts Sealed

Double circuit, Normally Closed (N/C) contacts detector, in which the connectivity is modified with pigtail leads that extend through a seal plate. This provides for enhanced protection against corrosive or moisture-laden environments.

Double Circuit N/C & N/O Sealed

Double circuit detector, in which one set of contacts is Normally Open (N/O), and the other set of contacts is Normally Closed (N/C). The connectivity is modified with pigtail leads.

Bank Vault & Vestibule - Models 7050 and 7050-C

The standard CR 135 detector is specially designed to respond to a rate of temperature increase resulting from an attack on a vault or safe door. The units are calibrated to recognize a rate of increase of 4 Celsius degrees per minute.
